NBA

The NBA, or National Basketball Association, is a professional basketball league in North America composed of 30 teams (29 in the United States and 1 in Canada). Founded in New York City on June 6, 1946, as the Basketball Association of America (BAA), it merged with the National Basketball League (NBL) in 1949 to become the NBA. The league is widely regarded as the premier men’s professional basketball league in the world. NBA teams compete in an 82-game regular season, followed by playoffs that culminate in the NBA Finals, where the two conference champions compete for the championship. The NBA is known for its high level of athleticism, skill, and entertainment, and it has produced many of the sport’s most famous players, such as Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant. The league also plays a significant role in global basketball development and has a massive fan base around the world.
