Basketball Match

A basketball match is a competitive game between two teams, typically consisting of five players each, played on a rectangular court. The objective of the match is to score points by shooting a ball through the opposing team’s hoop or basket, which is elevated 10 feet off the ground. The match is played in four quarters, each lasting a specific duration, often 12 minutes in professional leagues like the NBA, or 10 minutes in international play. Teams can earn points in various ways: two points for a field goal made inside the three-point line, three points for a field goal made beyond the three-point line, and one point for each free throw. The match concludes when the time runs out, or at the end of overtime if the game is tied. The team with the most points at the end of the match is declared the winner. Various rules govern gameplay, including fouls, violations, and time limits, to ensure fair competition and flow of the game.
